♦ Industrial visit to Radio City 91.9 FM, Jalandhar
Students of Journalism and Mass Communication went on an industrial visit to Radio City 91.9 FM, Jalandhar (earlier known as Radio Mantra) on March 29, 2017. They interacted with RJ Varun,Programming Head Ms. Seema Soni and Copywriter Ms. Anshu and also saw the working a radio station.
The visit was quite interesting for them as they get to know the practical working of a private radio!
♦ Industrial Visit to Punjab Kesari
Gaining practical knowledge about print media subject, the students of Department of Journalism and Mass communication went to their first industrial visit at “Punjab Kesari” – Jalandhar.
- Students interacted with reporters, sub editors and other technical staff from PK and Jagbani online and TV.
- They had an outstanding experience after looking at the real time functioning of print media, both editorial as well as printing departments.

Highlighting a similar issue with an angle of women empowerment, Team Sidq in association with Deptt of Journalism, PCTE Baddowal has come up with a short Punjabi flick.
♦ Guest Lecture on Printing Process of a newspaper
Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organised a guest lecture on Printing Process of a newspaper. Sh. Kamal Chopra, a senior professor and currently the President of All India Federation of Master Printers interacted with the budding media professionals here and shared in detail about the types of printing machines.
Students gained an excellent learning about the printing industry as well.
♦ Guest Lecture on Challenges and Opportunities in Print Media!
Ms. Divya Goyal, Senior Correspondent of a leading English National Daily – The Indian Express interacted with students of Journalism and Mass Communication on Challenges and Opportunities in Print Media.
She shared her national media coverage and discussed about practicalities and challenges faced in reporting.
The guest lecture provided a great learning experience for the students.
♦ Guest Lecture organised on News that Glues
Department organised a guest lecture on ‘News that Glues’ on November 11, 2016. The speaker on this occasion was Gauri Chhabra, a known media professional with more than 15 years of practical experience in the field of Journalism. She interacted with the students and shared techniques of writing crispy and brief headlines along with the tip of writing a news story that would glue a reader to it.
♦ Signature campaign by Journalism students
The students of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, PCTE organised a signature campaign on the upcoming elections in which students and faculty of campus took a pledge to vote for a Better Punjab. The objective of the event was to make youth aware of their right to vote so that they can click the right button on February 4, 2017.
Such kind of event has happened for the first time in the College. This was followed by a photo caption contest. Hundreds of students joined in number and took a pledge as well as wrote captions on the picture displayed. The students played the patriotic songs in the background to set the ambience.
